Characters[]

Characters Mentioned[]

  • Small Eliza (who also provides the ending footnote)
  • Hesper McFadden
  • Adam Sloth (Son of Doctor Frank Sloth)

Trivia[]

  • This story shows that Hugo lives in an apartment. This is interesting to note because Milo, the hero of the story The Phantom Tollbooth (which the Terrible Trivium appeared in) also lives in an apartment.
  • Scarlett expresses slight fear that someone named Jimmy O'James will come and 'get her'. Jimmy O'James was Slappy's ventriloquist for a bit during Bride of the Living Dummy and Slappy's Nightmare.
  • A mind-stealing doll also appeared in the Goosebumps: Horrorland book Revenge of the Living Dummy. Lissamel is pretty sure it didn't work like this, though.
  • Much like Slappy's inchantation means 'You and I are one now', Scarlett's means something similar: 'We two are together, forever and always'.
  • During her footnote, Small Eliza loosely quotes a few lines from Tall Jake himself (The exact quote being "Perhaps you will be the star of the next issue. You only have to ask. I'll be back soon, dear reader, and so will you.")
